Your link popularity is not determined only by the quantity of links to your site, but by the quality of the sites that link to your site. There is also the issue that some search engines and also directories have stopped indexing FFA pages, so that in itself should tell you that FFA pages are not the answer to increased link popularity.

If you want to increase your web sites link popularity do it the old fashion way by asking other sites to exchange links with you, and creating a information rich web site so that other web sites will want to link to you.
